Located on the south-western side of France and only 1-hour drive from Bordeaux, this chic, laid back coastal town is the capital of Oysters.
Hidden Gemsss took a scenic drive down to the Atlantic coast and experienced all of its Oyster offerings, from fisherman cottages to freshly shucked gems.
Sandrine et Eric Thumerel
Amongst all of the fisherman huts, one, in particular, stood out - Sandrine et Eric Thumerel. A colorful and friendly setting allowed you to immersive yourself in the heart of the fisherman's huts, to truly soak up the authentic life of the Bassin village. Expect a warm welcome, cabin ambiance and a light terrace perfectly capturing the sun and overlooking the oyster bay.
Tip: Head there early season between April - June, this is an ideal time for the freshest oysters, the sun will be shining and a cold glass of Rosé will be more than satisfactory.
On a side note, whilst you're there make sure you head to La Plage des Americains for sunset, it's an idyllic beach.
