Home to the most famous sparkling wines in the world, it's here where your sense arouse.
There's only one tour we recommend when visiting then region and that's the marvellous, Champagne Mercier...
Champagne Mercier
Champagne is a magical region where your eyes captivate by the hillsides of prestigious vines from Dom Pérignon, Veuve Clicquot and Möet & Chandon, your mouth tingles as the succulent sparkles hit your taste buds, ears rejoice of clinking glasses and your nose clears as the sun beats down and you breathe in the freshest of air.
If you're looking for an interesting yet unique guide, one place in particular nestled in Épernay holds a fine, family-run Champagne vine since 1858, Mercier. Here you're able to step inside the world of Champagne makers through a petite audio train ride where you'll visit the inspiring 18km long cellar, located 30m underground before tasting some of their vintage and non vintage cuvée.
The champagne route is a 'bucket list' destination where you can experience traditional quaint villages to stylish cities, Champagne welcomes you with an easygoing, warm ambience.
Tip: This is one of the only tours in Champagne where you can actually visit the cellars along with a tasting, so be sure to read the tour details thoroughly. It may be pricey but as Champagne isn't Champagne unless it's grown there, why not try!
On a side note, the awe-inspiring village of Hautvillers is an area you may only know through a local. Lucky enough we stumbled across one who mentioned about this place. It's here where you'll find the legendary Dom Pérignon's tomb and a special viewpoint of all of the admirable vines.
