COLMAR, ALSACE FRANCE

Where France meets Germany and both cultures combine, Colmar is a photographers dream.

Cobblestoned streets fused with half-timbered medieval styled buildings, this Alsatian city is one you have to visit when you're in Grand Est region.

Colmar

A glimpse of 1,000 years of European history and the capital of the Alsace Wine Route where local vineyards specialise in Riesling and Gewürztraminer wines, Colmar is an endearing and special city to explore. Easily accessible from Switzerland and Germany, it makes it a popular yet untouched destination to embrace the true 'Country Town' ambience. Filled with cobbled streets, canals, markets and traditional buildings in an array of picturesque colours it's know wonder why Colmar has been called a 'Fairytale' or the 'Prettiest place in France'.

Tip: Known for it's gourmet and wines, we can't recommend enough the quaint yet popular wine bar L'un Des Suns. A tasty selection of wines and charcuterie boards in a laid back yet lively atmosphere, what more could you want!?

On a side note, if you love 'heritage, culture and the art of living' then another idyllic city in the Alsace Region is Strasbourg, located not so far from Colmar, it's one to visit.
