From country, lemon trees to beaches and beyond, Ibiza's Northern region is the essence of rural, rustic and rapture.
Coves, beaches, viewpoints and hikes with hardly any crowds? That's the beauty of Ibiza's North, below you will find a selection of our gems.
Cala Xarraca
Off the curvy scenic road leading to Portinatx where you'll be greeted with breathtaking views of Ibiza's countryside mountains, blue skies and jaded blue waters where every corner seems to be a slice of paradise, you'll come across Cala Xarraca. Split into two sides, one side which is the main 'Playa' aka beach which is usually busy and the other to the righ is our gem, the quieter rockier side located next to the fisherman huts. Expect perfect conditions to snorkel, cliff jump and grab that insta-worthy capture on the favourable rope swing.
Tip: It's trickier to get to than the main Playa, park up on the main road and head towards gap between the road barriers opposite the 'No Campfire' sign which leads to a sandy, dirty track.
Cala D'Albarca
Situated towards the village of San Mateu, Cala D'Albarca is a true Northern experience filled with jagged coastlines, awe-inspiring sea views, pine tress and cliffs. Due to the erosion of the cliffs, Cala D'Albarca has been left as a magical pile of rocks making it a small cove to bathe and swim. To get there you'll have to park up and embrace a rocky 1 hour hike down the cliff (and up again), although it's quite a journey you'll be blessed and feel accomplished once you've reached the point as it's exceptionally beautiful and known only to locals.
Tip: There's nothing around so be sure to wear appropriate shoes and keep hydrated with water.
On a side note, if you fancy a traditional Spanish seafood restaurant whilst in the North, head to S'illot des Renclí.
