Baden-Württemberg's capital known for its green spaces, industrial and commercial powerhouses and easy-going aura is a German utopia.
One attraction you wouldn't usually class as an essential place to visit is a Library, right? However in Stuttgart visiting their Public Library is a must-see and here's why...
Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart
Situated in Mailänder Platz known to be a 'future city centre', one Architect aimed to make a Library the cities cultural, monumental hub and it sure has established itself as a vital element of Stuttgart. Yi Architects has created a mesmerising monolithic cube which as you enter your eyes widen with excitement and disbelief. Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart is a very 'white' book readers paradise with the glistening of colours of books and interconnecting open staircases to explore the wonders of the Library. As imagined this is an instagrammable favourite when visiting Stuttgart and one crowd-pleaser everyone should peak into.
Tip: As seen in the photo, due to Covid-19 you're not allowed to sit on the comfortable seats provided but we hope 'normality' will soon allow you to do so.
On a side note, opposite where the library is located you'll find 'Milaneo', Stuttgart's shopping highlight.
