Reykjavik has quickly become a popular place to escape for both winter and summer vacations, with it's perfect position near some of natures great wonders from the 'Blue Lagoon' and 'Northern Lights' to it's picturesque rainbow coloured buildings and down to earth, phenomenal culinary scene it's no wonder why this lively yet cosy feel of a city has established itself as a destination hotspot. Whether it's road-tripping to find the next epic waterfall, chasing Aurora or simply strolling through the unique Icelandic streets, Iceland never fails to disappoint and there's always an adventure.
Tip: Before leaving Reykjavik there's one key pitstop to take - Hallgrímskirkja. This marvellous Parish Church at 75m high is special inside and out, along with the view at the top (pictured above).
On a side note, if your the type of person whose up for trying something weirdly new then it's worth visiting the Old Harbour area and stopping in a local joint to try their national delicacy, 'Fermented Shark' aka Hákarl.
