Home to the city of chairs its this point where the German, Swiss and French borders meet.
When in Weil Am Rhein there's always one internationally acclaimed Museum we absolutely love to check out, Vitra...
Vitra Design Museum
Known as the most south-westerly point in Germany, it's no wonder why Weil Am Rhein is an admired area that fuses a unique blend of design, culture and cuisine all in one spot. Thanks to the Three Countries Bridge which helps connect the borders, it spans over 230m long making it the worlds longest pedestrian bridge.
Truly establishing Weil Am Rhein as the core element of Design is the spectacle, Vitra Design Musuem. Masters in Architecture; Tadao Ando, Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid and more joined forces to create a pioneering community of the past and present of design that blends architecture, art and everyday culture.
Offering a variety of workshops, walking tours and two major temporary exhibitions annually, Vitra Design Museum transports you on a journey of craftsmanship, creativity and the world of leading furniture maker, Vitra.
Tip: They have a great outside space to enjoy the sunshine, grab a bite to eat and drink from VitraHaus and enjoy the prolific environment.
On a side note, not far from the museum sits the 'pocket-size metropolis' Basel, a must visit when you're in the area.
